The 7th week in BEL120 =)

Monday:
in this class, we had to debate. Our tittle was "Can Harimau Malayan perform in Brazil in Piala Fifa in 2014". I am in the opposite group.

This is some point that we had:

  • All the Malaysian players are unfit
  • Their focus is easy to lose once they are rewarded
  • lack of confidence
  • The strategy that is being played by Harimau Malay is always bad
The conclusion is Harimau Malayan is not ready to compete with the others big team and can't perform in Brazil in 2014.

The 6th week in BEL120 ;P

Tuesday:
In this day, i've learned about singular and plural nouns.

Notes:
Singular is when a noun means one only, it is said to be singular.
Examples:  boy, girl, book, church, box

Plural is when a noun means more than one, it is said to be plural.
Examples:  boys, girls, books, churches

Rule #1The plural of nouns is usually formed by adding - s to a singular noun.

 lamp lamps
 cat cats
 fork forks
 flower flowers
 pen pens

Exercise:  Write the plural of each of these nouns

 chair star farm
 storm door rock
 owner paper cup

Rule #2
Nouns ending in szx, sh, and ch form the plural by adding - es.

 moss mosses
 buzz buzzes
 box boxes
 dish  dishes
 church churches

Exercise:  Write the plural of each of these nouns

 dress brush hex
 wish class fox
 cross bench bush
 ax grass mantis

Special Note:If you add s to such nouns as foxbush, and bench, you will find that you cannot pronounce them without
making an additional syllable.  This is why such nouns form the plural by adding es.

Tuesday: reading day
In this day, my class learned about TOPIC SENTENCES. Topic sentences is one of the important thing in the essay. This topic sentences are located at each paragraph of essay. its contain topic and control idea. Topic is the main idea of essay. Control idea is each topic sentences in each paragraph.
Example:

    1. One of the most important (reason why people wake up late)TOPIC in the morning is (staying up late at night)CONTROL IDEA.
    2. The thing which is of (utmost importance for every student)TOPIC is (consistency)CONTROL IDEA. We need to revise whatever we are taught daily. This will help us to retain when we have studied better. Consistent studying and revising will prevent us from missing out important details.
Precaution: Make sure the topic sentences does not have many controlling idea.

writing essay:
we can make our essay more interesting, coherant and smooth using the transition elements.
transitions are elements or words which are connecting idea to idea.
example:
                                                                  but
Marcos loves to swim in the ocean    however               his parent not allow him.
                                                                  on the other hand
for longer writing, transition can be use to connect first and the second paragraph.
p/s: i always use this transitions in my essay but i do not know the name is "transition".hu3
